Sandy beach of Lara
Lara Beach on the Turkish Riviera is the perfect destination for a short beach break in Antalya. It's the closest beach to the Antalya Airport and therefore quick and easy to reach.
Lara is 15 km long, but only 2 km on the west side are public areas. The rest is owned by 5 star resorts, and some of them are the best places to stay in Antalya and in all of Turkey.
Every year Lara Beach attracts visitors from all over the world with its kilometers of light brown sand, clear turquoise waters, and some of the best beach resorts in Turkey, almost all of which are 5-star hotels that offer all-inclusive service.
Lara's sandy beach is known as the longest sandy beach in Turkey. The beach is located 18 km southeast of the center of Antalya, in the west it originates in the area of the Karpuzkaldiran army unit and stretches east through the entire Kundu microdistrict. Lara beach is famous for its fine golden sand, its second name in Turkish is Altinkum, which means “golden sand”.
Today, Lara is connected to other areas of Antalya by a well-established bus service. You can recognize the bus going to the Lara area by the capital letter L in front of the bus number. Main bus routes:
800 – will take you to Antalya Airport
LC07 – connects the Kundu district with the center of Antalya
KL08 – connects Konyaalti and Lara
LF09/LF10 – travel from Lara to public hospitals
VL13 / VL13A – connects the Lara and Kepez districts
