Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed at this house during his visit to Alanya on February 18, 1935. Alanya Atatürk House was originally built as a residence by the timber merchant M. Tevfik Azakoğlu, located in Şekerhane Mahallesi. After the owner's death, it was donated to the Ministry of Culture by Rıfat Azakoğlu and restored in 1987, opening for visitation as "Alanya Atatürk House". It is a three-story mansion in the traditional Alanya house style, featuring a central hall opening to rooms in the "karnıyarık" plan with wooden and stone construction.
The exact construction date of the house is uncertain, but it is said that the master builder was Beyri Usta. The entrance to the house is through a double-winged iron gate at the garden entrance on the southern facade, leading up to the first floor. The ground floor, originally with a soil floor, was used as a stable and storage area. There are five rooms and a trunk room on the first and second floors. The house was constructed with comfortable living in mind, considering the climate of Alanya. Its front facade faces the historic Alanya Castle. The house is registered as a Protected Cultural Property.
On the ground floor of the house, personal belongings of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk such as a vest, a shirt with a coat of arms, shoes, photographs, and a telegram sent by Atatürk to the people of Alanya are exhibited. The rooms on the upper and lower floors are arranged as a traditional Alanya house, showcasing exhibitions on topics like weddings in Alanya, Alanya cuisine, and children's games in Alanya. Additionally, the projection room on the lower floor allows visitors to watch documentaries about Atatürk. Display cases in the rooms on the second floor exhibit ethnographic items such as embroideries, clothing, jewelry, and weapons related to Alanya and its surroundings. Alanya Atatürk House Museum can be visited free of charge, with seasonal changes in visiting hours.
